01 / EXPERTISE

More than making it work.

Exceptional electrical work should feel seamless — in the details you notice, and the systems you never have to think about.

02 / AN INTERACTIVE HOME

See where the system actually lives.

Follow the power from the utility line into every room: the main breaker switches on, the circuits come alive, then the lights, EV charger and A/C. Tap a number to explore each part.

How power moves through a home Simplified cross-section of a two-story home. Utility power comes in through the service drop and meter to the main panel. When the main breaker is switched on, the branch circuits for the EV charger, kitchen counter outlets, lighting and air conditioning are energized, and the lights come on.
Simplified illustration. Every home is wired differently; a Volta electrician checks yours in person.

Service drop & meter

Power arrives from the utility line and runs through the meter, which measures what your home uses. When an upgrade needs a new meter socket or service mast, Volta coordinates the shut-off and reconnection with your utility.

2 of 8

Main panel

The panel sends power out to every branch circuit, and each circuit has its own breaker. The main breaker switches off the whole house (on a vertical handle, up is ON). Capacity, condition and safety call for a professional evaluation.

3 of 8

Whole-home surge protector

Mounted at the panel, it helps limit voltage spikes from outside the home before they reach your circuits. Its indicator light shows that protection is active.

4 of 8

Grounding electrode

A ground rod connects the electrical system to the earth. It helps keep voltage stable and gives lightning and utility surges a path to ground.

5 of 8

Dedicated EV charger circuit

A Level 2 charger gets its own dedicated 240-volt circuit. Charger selection, placement and a panel capacity assessment are done together.

6 of 8

GFCI-protected kitchen counters

Outlets power the devices you rely on all day. Kitchen countertop outlets also need GFCI protection, which cuts the power in a fraction of a second if current leaks where it shouldn't, such as through water.

7 of 8

Lighting circuits

Ceiling lights, pendants and recessed lights on their own circuits: thoughtful fixture placement, clean switching and dimming design for every room, installed to code.

8 of 8

A/C circuit & disconnect

Central air runs on its own 240-volt circuit, with a disconnect switch beside the outdoor unit so it can be shut off safely for service.

03 / ELECTRICAL CAPACITY

Behind every modern home.

Every circuit in your home starts at one breaker in your electrical panel. Tap a breaker, or anything it powers, to follow the circuit, switch it off, or see what a tripped breaker looks like.

04 / ELECTRIC MOBILITY

Your garage. Ready for what’s next.

Home charging starts with the right electrical setup — equipment, circuit capacity, placement and a professional install.

CHARGING EXPERIENCE / SIMULATION

Future-ready begins at home.

An illustration of a typical home setup: a wall-mounted charger on its own dedicated circuit, plugged into the car's charge port.

Light colors follow the manufacturer's guides for this charger and car.

05 / ARCHITECTURAL LIGHT

Don’t just light a room. Change the feeling.

A real Volta bathroom. Pick a scene, dim it, make it warmer or cooler, and watch the same room change.

Each layer is wired to its own control. That wiring is the part Volta plans and installs.

06 / START WITH YOUR NEED

Don’t know the service? Know the symptom.

Pick what you’re seeing. You’ll get how soon to call, what it can mean, what’s safe to do now and what Volta does about it.

How soon to call: Soon

A breaker that keeps tripping is telling you something.

Breakers trip to protect the wiring. When one trips again and again, the cause needs to be found, not just reset.

What it can mean

  • Too much running on one circuit
  • A failing appliance or device
  • A loose connection or a worn breaker

Safe steps now

  • Unplug what’s on that circuit, then reset it once.
  • If it trips again right away, leave it off and call.

What Volta does: Finds the cause on site and explains the fix, whether that’s a repair, a new circuit or an upgrade.

If you smell burning, see smoke or sparks, or suspect immediate danger, stay away from the equipment and call 911.
